Mini Camp is Here!, The Carolina Panthers have held their first mini-camp for the year of 2008.  Even though they have had many "optional" workouts before, this is the first complete team practice.  It may not be much and just a lot of meetings and mental practices, the optimism is there and on paper the 2008 Carolina Panthers are look like the team to beat in the NFC South.

Coming off a disappointing campaign last year, the Panthers have reshuffled just about every position on offense and defense.  The changes have given the fans and player a "new life".  After a surprising first round in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Panthers have sparked conversation everywhere.  Negative and positive comments alike.  Many have criticized the move of trading back up into the first round to get offensive tackle Jeff Otah out of the University of Pittsburgh.  To some this move seemed selfish by the Panthers in that they sacrificed the future for the present.  While to others, it was seen as a sense of urgency by the Panthers in that they wanted to win NOW instead of later.  Even with all the speculation on whether it was a good or bad move, no one will know what "it is" until the season actually starts on  September 4, 2008.
